I have had the pleasure of working with Emily Cheadle over the past few years. Emily is a force of nature, jumping into a role that, at best, can be described as overwhelming. At a waterfront union with more than 800 members, she managed our office and met members’ concerns with professionalism and patience. Her skills kept our office moving during a time of transition, and her legal training brought an irreproachable level of professionalism. Emily is active in her current work at the BCGEU, supporting members inside and outside the office.
Beyond her professional life, Emily is deeply dedicated to her family, friends and community. She is often out in nature with her partner, son and dog, Walter. She has sung in local choirs and continues to volunteer annually with her high school music program. She participates meaningfully in her son’s school as an active PAC member, helping make it a better place for all students.
Emily has a kind, genuine manner that speaks to the people she interacts with every day. She is progressive in her thinking, has a knack for finding solutions and builds bridges between communities.
I count Emily as one of my dear friends and can wholeheartedly recommend her to the Port Moody community as a School District 43 trustee. Emily’s strong sense of community and concern for children’s well-being will be at the top of her agenda.
